1. Who we are
Parental Guidance (the "Service") is operated by Parental Guidance Remote LLC, Florida, USA ("we," "us"). The Service consists of two mobile applications — a Helper app used by an adult family member or trusted person (a "Helper") and a Companion app used by the person receiving help (the "Companion user") — together with supporting servers.
2. The two people in every account
Our product involves two individuals in a single relationship, and this policy addresses both. Where their interests could differ, we design for the Companion user: they can see everything done to their device, undo changes, and revoke access without the Helper's involvement.
3. Information we collect
From Helpers
- Account information: name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Relationship information:the name and relationship label the Helper assigns to a Companion user (e.g., "Dorothy — Mother").
- Subscription status: whether a subscription is active. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google (see Section 6); we never receive card numbers or full billing details.
From Companion users
- Pairing and consent records: which Helpers are approved, which capabilities each was granted, and when consent was given, changed, or revoked.
- Device status signals: coarse state needed to display a status dashboard — battery level, network connectivity, ringer level, and Do Not Disturb state.
- Command and event history: every remote action requested, its outcome, every notification shown, and every undo — retained in a tamper-evident audit log.
From both
- Technical and diagnostic data: device model, OS version, app version, crash reports, and service logs used to operate and debug the Service.
4. Information we do not collect
The Service is a settings-assistance tool, not a monitoring tool. We do not collect, access, or store:
- The content of calls, texts, or messages;
- Photos, videos, or files on either device;
- Browsing history or app-usage surveillance;
- Contacts or address books;
- Continuous or background location. (The "make their phone ring" feature sounds the device; it does not transmit its location.)
5. How we use information
- To operate the Service: routing signed commands, showing device status, and maintaining the audit log;
- To enforce consent: verifying that each command comes from an approved Helper with the relevant permission still granted;
- To notify the Companion user of every change made to their device;
- To provide support, prevent abuse, and maintain security;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
6. Payments
Subscriptions are purchased exclusively through Apple's App Store or Google Play and are billed to your app-store account under Apple's or Google's terms and privacy policies. We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers from the stores (via our subscription-management provider) but never your payment card details.
7. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract — cloud hosting and database services, push-notification delivery (Apple and Google), SMS delivery, crash reporting, and subscription management — and where required by law or to protect the safety of users. We may share aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot reasonably identify anyone.
8. The Companion user's rights within the product
- See every capability each Helper holds, and revoke any or all of them at any time;
- Receive a notification for every change, and undo changes;
- Read their complete change history;
- Independently add a read-only auditor of their choosing;
- End all remote access by uninstalling the Companion app.
9. Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while an account is active. Audit-log entries are retained for 12 months to preserve the integrity of the tamper-evident record for both parties, then deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see our Account & Data Deletion page; some records may be retained where required by law.
10. Your legal rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. [Region-specific sections — e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA — to be added on counsel review.]
11. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use encryption in transit, hardware-backed cryptographic signing of commands, narrowly scoped device permissions, and tamper-evident logging. No system is perfectly secure. To report a vulnerability, email security@parentalguidance.app.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice in-app.
14. Website analytics and cookies
This section covers our website, separately from the apps described above. When you visit the site, and only after you agree, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors reach and use it — such as which pages are viewed and the general region a visit comes from (derived from IP address). Google Analytics stores cookies in your browser and processes this information on our behalf; Google may also use it under its own terms. We rely on it only in aggregate to improve the site — never to identify you personally and never for advertising.
We ask for your consent before any analytics cookies load. Until you agree, analytics storage stays disabled (using Google Consent Mode), so no analytics cookies are set. If you decline, it stays disabled — no analytics cookies are stored and your visit is flagged to Google Analytics as non-consented — and you can still browse the site and join the waitlist normally. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Joining the waitlist stores only the email address you submit; it does not set analytics cookies.
