1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Parental Guidance applications and related services (the "Service"), operated by Parental Guidance Remote LLC("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
The Service enables a subscribing user (a "Helper") to remotely assist a consenting adult (a "Companion user") with a limited set of phone-settings actions on the Companion user's device, and provides related features such as device status, notifications, undo, and an audit log. Available capabilities differ by the Companion user's device platform: certain remote-assist features are available only on Android, while iPhone support is limited to guided-help features. We describe these differences in the app and on our website, and they may change as platform policies change.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. The Service is designed for use between adults.
4. Consent is a condition of use
The Service may only be used with the knowing, voluntary consent of the Companion user, given through the in-app pairing and consent flow. You agree that you will not:
- Pair with or operate the Service on a device whose owner has not personally completed the consent flow;
- Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to the Companion user;
- Complete or manipulate the consent flow on the Companion user's behalf;
- Interfere with the Companion user's ability to see notifications, undo changes, review the log, or revoke access.
The Companion user may revoke any or all access at any time, and we may act on signals of misuse — including repeated undos and revocations — by restricting or terminating a Helper's access.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- The Helper app requires a paid subscription of USD $8.99 per month(plus applicable taxes), purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play, beginning after a 10-day free trial at launch. The Companion app is free.
- Subscriptions are billed to your app-store account and renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (or trial).
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies; we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.
- Prices may change with advance notice; changes apply at your next renewal.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to harass, surveil, coerce, or exploit any person; to attempt to circumvent its security or consent mechanisms; to reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law; or to violate any applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Not an emergency, medical, or monitoring service
The Service is a phone-settings assistance tool. It is not an emergency-response, medical-alert, fall-detection, health-monitoring, or safety-monitoring service, and it must not be relied upon for the health, safety, or supervision of any person. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. Delivery of commands and notifications depends on device power, connectivity, and platform behavior and is not guaranteed or instantaneous.
8. Your content and our IP
You retain rights to information you provide. We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the apps on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the applicable app store's terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. A Companion user may end all remote access at any time by revoking helpers or uninstalling the Companion app. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, for security reasons, or upon discontinuation of the Service, with notice where practicable.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Dispute-resolution / arbitration provisions to be determined on counsel review.]
